Karbala: The Karbala Health Department announced on Saturday the launch of the first initiative by health promotion teams as part of the health emergency plan for the Arba’een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). This initiative includes an awareness and motivational campaign entitled “The Health Challenge,” along with a field survey to identify the health behaviors and knowledge of pilgrims. This is part of early preparations to provide comprehensive health services during the massive pilgrimage.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Dr. Ali Muhammad Saleh Abu Tahin, Director of the Karbala Health Department, stated that “the initiative is part of a comprehensive program aimed at raising health awareness among pilgrims by providing simplified educational messages that encourage the adoption of healthy behaviors. It also aims to collect field data that will contribute to developing awareness programs and future health plans that meet the needs of the pilgrims.”
Abu Tahin pointed out that “this initiative is part of the efforts of the Karbala Health Department, with the support and follow-up of the local government in the province, to promote health awareness and disease prevention. This will contribute to the success of the health plan for the Arba’een pilgrimage and ensure the safety of the millions of pilgrims arriving in Karbala.”
