Karbala: The Media and Government Communication Department in Karbala has released a comprehensive set of regulations and guidelines aimed at ensuring the safety of millions of pilgrims participating in the Arba’een pilgrimage to the shrine of Imam Hussein. These guidelines are specifically directed at the owners of Husseini processions and the pilgrims making their way to Karbala, with a focus on maintaining safety and ensuring smooth traffic flow along the pilgrimage routes.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the guidelines highlight the crucial role of procession owners in maintaining stability among the pilgrims. They are urged to actively counter and prevent the spread of malicious rumors to avoid causing unnecessary anxiety and to ensure public peace and security.

The guidelines also address traffic safety and organization, urging pilgrims to adhere strictly to instructions from security, traffic, and service institutions. Pilgrims are advised to use only designated pedestrian routes and to avoid vehicle lanes unless absolutely necessary. The guidelines also recommend wearing clothing or vests with reflective markings when walking at night to enhance visibility and reduce the risk of traffic accidents.

In terms of organization and social solidarity, the guidelines emphasize walking in an orderly manner and avoiding sudden stops or gatherings that could lead to traffic congestion. Special attention is advised for children and the elderly, ensuring they are accompanied throughout the walk.

The recommendations further call for maintaining environmental cleanliness by properly disposing of waste, food scraps, and beverages in designated areas. Pilgrims are encouraged to cooperate with volunteer teams, medical personnel, and security forces who are present to assist visitors during the pilgrimage.
