According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Shorta took the lead with a penalty kick by Cristian Barco in the 28th minute. Karbala managed to level the score in stoppage time, with Austin Amutu netting the equalizer in the 90+3 minute. The match concluded with both teams sharing the points.

In another match of the same round, Erbil emerged victorious with a 2-0 win over Al-Kahraba at Franso Hariri Stadium. Erbil’s goals were both scored in the first half, with Meulen Carvalho finding the back of the net in the 23rd minute and Akwa Hazira adding another in the 28th minute. This victory secured Erbil its first three points of the league competition.
