Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi received a request on Tuesday from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) to postpone Tuesday's parliamentary session.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Halbousi's media office stated that the request was made to delay the session originally scheduled for January 27, which was intended to elect the President of the Republic. The postponement is aimed at providing additional time for both parties to reach an understanding and agreement regarding the election.
