The political bureau of the Kurdistan Democratic Party announced, on Saturday, its disowning from the statements of political analyst Imad Baglan regarding the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki.

The Political Bureau said in a statement, "For some time now, Imad Baglan's opinion has been defined in dialogue with the media and his analyzes as representing the opinion of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, explaining that those authorized to declare the party's name are its official spokesperson or statements of the party's political bureau."

The statement added, "What Imad Baglan said about al-Maliki does not reflect the opinion of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, but rather his personal opinion."

The Political Bureau called on the media to "not consider the opinions of analysts or media professionals as those of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, but rather their personal opinions."
