Salah al-din: The Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency announced the freeing of a kidnapped person and the arrest of the kidnappers in Salah al-Din Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the agency detailed in a press release that a high-quality operation was executed by detachments of the Federal Intelligence and Investigations Agency, specifically the Falcon Intelligence Cell and Salah al-Din Intelligence and Counter-Terrorism units. This operation successfully resulted in the rescue of the kidnapped individual and the apprehension of the two kidnappers in less than 24 hours.

The agency further explained that during the interrogation process, the two men confessed to luring a citizen from outside the governorate with the intent to kidnap him. The motive behind the kidnapping was to extort money from the victim’s family in exchange for his release. The confessions of the perpetrators have been legally ratified.
