Kidnapped Veterinarian Freed In Basra

Basra: The North Basra Police Directorate announced on Friday the rescue of a kidnapped veterinarian.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a statement, the Directorate reported that, following information regarding the abduction of a veterinarian from Al-Madina District-who had been lured by an anonymous call requesting livestock treatment and subsequently held for a ransom of 300 million Iraqi dinars-a joint security force was formed. The force succeeded in pinpointing his location within a remote area of the Zajri Marshes, situated between Basra and Dhi Qar.

The statement added: “Through a precise security operation, the location was monitored via drone and subsequently raided; this forced the kidnappers to flee by boat, resulting in the rescue of the kidnapped victim.”
