Kirkuk: Kirkuk Police Chief, Major General Fatah Mahmoud Yassin al-Khafaji, announced the arrest of two individuals wanted for murder and kidnapping who had fled from Nineveh Governorate. He stated that detachments from the Azadi Police Station successfully carried out a security operation that resulted in the arrest of two suspects wanted on criminal charges.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the operation was executed following precise intelligence and intensive field investigations. Under the command of the Azadi Police Station officer, a force from the station launched a security operation in the al-Shurja area of Kirkuk city center. This operation led to the arrest of the suspects who had been hiding in the area.
Verification of the detainees' information revealed that they were wanted by the judiciary in Nineveh Governorate. The charges against them include provisions of Articles 406, related to premeditated murder, and 421, pertaining to kidnapping, under the Iraqi Penal Code.
