Kirkuk: The Chairman of the Kirkuk Provincial Council, Eng. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Hafeth, has announced his commitment to the political agreement in Kirkuk. In a statement, he addressed recent claims regarding the rotation of the Kirkuk Governor’s position.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hafeth emphasized that the statements made by a member of the Kirkuk Provincial Council about the governor’s position were inaccurate and did not reflect the true essence of the political agreement that all parties have adhered to in forming the Kirkuk government. He reiterated his dedication to maintaining the agreement, which is designed to foster genuine partnership and political stability, benefiting the security, stability, and reconstruction of Kirkuk province.

Al-Hafeth further highlighted the importance of keeping Kirkuk free from political conflicts and urged cooperation with a sense of shared responsibility. He stressed the need to focus on protecting the interests of the people of Kirkuk, aiming to fulfill their aspirations for security, development, and prosperity.
