Kirkuk to Host Iraq’s First Electric and Gasoline Car Factory

Kirkuk: For the first time in Iraq, Kirkuk will be home to a factory dedicated to the production of electric, gasoline, and diesel cars. The foundation stone for the “Uruk” factory was laid by Kirkuk Governor, Rebwar Taha.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Governor Taha announced that 65% of the cars will be manufactured locally in Kirkuk, while the remaining 35% will be sourced from the United States, Germany, and Turkey. The factory is expected to produce over seven thousand vehicles at an investment of 300 billion dinars.

The project will provide job opportunities for more than five thousand residents of Kirkuk and will adhere to international standards for environmental protection and safety.
