Moscow: The Kremlin has emphasized that the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and the normalization of relations between Russia and the United States are distinct issues. This clarification was provided by Russian presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, highlighting the complexity of international relations involving the two nations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Peskov addressed concerns related to US President Donald Trump’s statements on the Ukrainian conflict and whether they imply an end to the normalization process between Moscow and Washington. Peskov stated, “These are two different paths: one relates to the Ukrainian settlement, and the other relates to bilateral relations between Russia and the United States.” He further noted ongoing efforts to ameliorate the relationship between the two countries and alleviate its current poor state.

Additionally, Peskov acknowledged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statements advocating for intensified settlement negotiations as a positive development. Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry, after a meeting between the Russian and US foreign ministers in Kuala Lumpur, reiterated both sides’ commitment to peaceful conflict resolution, economic and humanitarian cooperation restoration, direct flight resumption, and continuous diplomatic mission normalization efforts.
