Moscow: Moscow and Washington are working to resolve the Ukrainian crisis “this week,” as announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. He expressed hope that these efforts would yield positive results.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Peskov stated in press statements that the Russian side is open to seeking a peaceful settlement to the Ukrainian crisis and mentioned ongoing collaboration with the American side. He highlighted that the United States has communicated at various levels that Ukraine’s membership in NATO is impossible, aligning with Moscow’s stance.
Peskov emphasized satisfaction with this position, as it aligns with Russia’s rejection of Ukraine’s potential NATO accession. He noted that such an integration would threaten Russia’s national interests and identified it as one of the root causes of the conflict, a point President Vladimir Putin has frequently addressed.
