Kufa Preacher Urges Islamic Unity Amid Rising Sectarianism in Gaza and Lebanon

KUFA: The Friday prayer preacher at the Kufa Mosque, Kazem Al-Husseini, lauded the Islamic resistance efforts in Gaza and southern Lebanon, emphasizing the need for Islamic unity against escalating sectarian tensions. Al-Husseini’s remarks came amid intensifying conflicts between Zionist forces and Islamic resistance groups, which he claimed were designed to deepen Muslim divisions and distract from confronting global arrogance and aggression.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Husseini described the current state of affairs as a critical and dangerous historical moment for the Arab and Islamic nations, framing it as a war aimed at exterminating Islam. He highlighted the battles in Gaza and southern Lebanon as part of a broader campaign against humanity and infrastructure, noting the sacrifices of figures such as Shiite leader Hassan Nasrallah and Sunni leader Yahya Sinwar in the ongoing struggle.

Al-Husseini called for the unification of Arab and Muslim efforts and emotions in confronting what he
termed a “rabid monster” with a voracious appetite for indiscriminate killing, irrespective of sect, gender, age, or status. He emphasized that all are potential targets in the current climate of violence.

He expressed confidence in the eventual defeat of America and Israel, citing a divine promise of their demise. However, he stressed that achieving this outcome requires visible signs of Islamic unity. Al-Husseini concluded his sermon by extending salutations to the Islamic resistance in Palestine and Lebanon, underscoring the need for solidarity.
