Baghdad: The Kurdistan Region Presidency confirmed that the participation of President Nechirvan Barzani in the Baghdad Summit represents "confirmation of the active presence in regional equations."
According to National Iraqi News Agency, spokesperson for the Region, Dilshad Shahab, stated that President Nechirvan Barzani's visit to Baghdad is in response to an official invitation from Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Iraq. The visit is part of the Arab League conference held in the capital city.
Shahab mentioned that the invitation signifies President Barzani's active presence in regional equations. It also highlights the presence and status of the Kurdistan Region within the framework of the federal state.
Nechirvan Barzani arrived in Baghdad this morning to take part in the Arab Summit.
