Baghdad: LaLiga President Javier Tebas arrived in Baghdad on Friday to take part in the inauguration of the 2025-2026 season of the Iraq Stars League, which officially will be kicked off tomorrow, Saturday, September 13.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Tebas' visit comes within the framework of the strategic partnership between LaLiga and the Iraqi Football Association, aimed at advancing Iraqi football and elevating its organizational and technical standards.

LaLiga has overseen the Iraq Stars League since the 2023-2024 season, under a strategic cooperation agreement signed in 2023. The agreement includes two main pillars: the first focuses on developing Iraqi football talent through specialized training programs, while the second covers the sponsorship and management of the professional league, the Iraq Stars League, for three consecutive seasons.
