Tehran: Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, stated that the United States is working to derail negotiations with Iran by “raising unresolvable issues.” Larijani wrote in a post on the X platform, affirming that the negotiation process between Iran and the United States is not yet closed. He expressed Iran’s desire for rational negotiations but accused the U.S. of paving the way for the cancellation of talks by imposing restrictions on Iran’s missile program.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei had mentioned earlier that Tehran was reviewing its past experiences before responding to Washington’s proposal for direct talks. In his weekly press conference in Tehran, Baghaei noted that the United States has disrupted diplomatic efforts multiple times over the past decade, indicating a lack of good faith from the start.

Baghaei added that in dealing with the United States, Iran must consider past instances, such as facing Israeli aggression supported by Washington during negotiation processes. He emphasized that future discussions cannot be separated from past experiences. Furthermore, Baghaei reiterated that the three European countries involved in the 2015 nuclear agreement-Britain, France, and Germany-lack the legal authority to activate the “snapback” mechanism to reimpose revoked Security Council resolutions against Iran.
