Sharjah: The Sharjah Art Foundation has announced the launch of the ‘Sound and Music Club,’ a community project centered on collaborative learning and the exchange of knowledge and experiences.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the program offers a series of specialized workshops and open sessions, held between September 20 and November 26, 2026, focusing on acquiring knowledge through hands-on practice and direct experimentation.

The bi-weekly workshops explore two main avenues of research and experimentation: using tapes and cassettes as media for musical composition and sound production, and exploring ways to combine artificial intelligence with modern musical technologies.

The program includes three sessions for all those interested in music and sound arts, beginning with the first session, ‘Tape Loop Processing,’ on September 20, 2026. This session will teach participants how to open, cut, and rejoin a cassette tape to create a continuous sound loop. After learning the fundamentals of tape processing, this tangible analog technique can open new creative horizons in sound design and musical composition.

The second session, titled ‘Artificial Intelligence and Music Technology,’ will be held on October 4 and 18, 2026. It will feature two-part workshops introducing a range of the latest and most user-friendly AI tools currently available to musicians and sound artists. Participants will explore modern software environments that allow them to integrate contemporary technologies innovatively into their creative work and musical composition.
