Pyongyang: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov issued a warning to the United States and its allies regarding security threats directed at Russia and North Korea.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Lavrov’s remarks were made during a press conference following his discussions with North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Song-hee in Pyongyang. Lavrov stated, “Moscow warns the United States and its allies in South Korea and Japan against using their alliances against Russia and North Korea.”

Lavrov clarified that despite the increased military presence by the United States, South Korea, and Japan around North Korea, there is no intention from any party to use force against the nation. He highlighted the joint concerns of Russia and North Korea over the establishment of NATO infrastructure in Northeast Asia, describing such attempts as dangerous.

Furthermore, Lavrov noted the agreement between Russia and North Korea on the necessity of creating effective mechanisms to ensure comprehensive security in the Asia-Pacific region. He concluded by emphasizing that the cooperation between Russia and North Korea plays a role in stabilizing the Korean Peninsula situation.
