Beirut: Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam confirmed on Friday that more than 900,000 Lebanese citizens have been forced to flee their homes.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Salam made this announcement during a press statement, emphasizing the severe impact of the recent displacements. He stated that Lebanon is prepared to engage in negotiations with Israel under international supervision to address the ongoing crisis.
Salam highlighted the government's determination to reassert control over Lebanese territory. He stressed the importance of consolidating military power solely under state authority, aiming to restore stability and security in the region.
The Prime Minister also pointed out the significant strain on Lebanon's basic services due to the large-scale displacement. The influx of displaced individuals has exacerbated existing challenges, demanding urgent attention and resources from the Lebanese government.
