Beirut: The Lebanese-Syrian border witnessed a security meeting today regarding the coordination of crossings between the two countries, following recent issues that led Syrian authorities to establish new entry conditions for Lebanese citizens.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place in the Syrian Jdeidet Yabous area and involved Lebanese officials, including the Head of the Lebanese General Security Center at the Masnaa checkpoint, Lieutenant Colonel Ihab Al-Dirani, and the head of the National Security Branch, Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Al-Mais. They met with Hudhayfah Al-Badawi, the head of the Jdeidet Yabous border center, to address coordination challenges, especially after Syria’s recent decision to restrict Lebanese entry.

Lebanese news sources indicated that the meeting resulted in an agreement on a working mechanism between the two parties, with reports suggesting a positive atmosphere throughout the discussions. The changes come after the new administration in Syria imposed entry conditions on Lebanese citizens just a day prior.
