BEIRUT: Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati has declared that Lebanon is undergoing one of its most severe crises, emphasizing the critical need for international aid.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during a meeting that gathered ministers involved with Lebanon’s crisis response plan along with representatives from the United Nations and donor countries, Mikati highlighted the catastrophic impact of ongoing conflicts on the nation. He detailed the severe human toll the crisis has inflicted, stating, “To date, about 2,400 people have been martyred, more than 10,000 others have been injured, and about one million people have been displaced from our people due to the devastating war waged by Israel, and the losses are still rising.”

Mikati accused Israel of “continuous aggression” in violation of international humanitarian law. He underscored the urgency of implementing Lebanon’s response plan which aims to bolster public services and ensure substantial support for Lebanese institutions. The plan a
lso focuses on providing immediate humanitarian assistance to those severely affected by the crisis.

The Lebanese Prime Minister’s call for international support comes at a time when the country grapples with multiple challenges, including political instability and economic hardships.
