According to National Iraqi News Agency, Anthony Illanga opened the scoring for Newcastle in the fifth minute, capitalizing on his team’s strong start. Liverpool waited until the 55th minute to level the score through Cody Gakpo, reigniting the match.
Newcastle needed just two minutes to regain the lead, with Joe Willock scoring in the 57th minute to make it 2-1. In stoppage time, the referee awarded Liverpool a penalty, which Dominik Szoboszlai converted to equalize in the 90+9th minute, giving the Reds a valuable point in their Premier League opener.
