Barcelona: Spanish club FC Barcelona has rejected a sponsorship offer from the bank Revolut due to the financial institution’s association with former Portuguese player Lus Figo.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Catalonia Radio reported on Thursday that Figo’s appearance in the bank’s recent advertising campaign, which referenced his controversial transfer from Barcelona to Real Madrid in 2000, made the offer a sensitive issue for the club’s management. The club is currently seeking a new financial sponsor following the expiration of its contract with CaixaBank and the failure to reach an agreement on a renewal.
