Mahmoud Al-Shennawy to / NINA /: Egypt’s Arab mini-summit will discuss the current crisis in Iraq and achieve stability in it

Baghdad Editor-in-chief of the Middle East News Agency, an expert in regional affairs, Mahmoud Al-Shennawi, said that the summit hosted by Egypt in the new city of El Alamein, in the presence of leaders of 5 countries, namely the UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan and Iraq, is considered a mini-Arab summit, and represents an attempt to come up with a common vision on a number of critical issues of interest to the participating countries and which have repercussions on the region in general.

He added to the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA): The leaders participating in the summit will discuss the current situation in the Arab world in light of the current crises and problems, including the repercussions and effects of the Russian-Ukrainian war on the countries of the region, and the current crisis in Iraq, especially with the failure to reach consensus that produces a final form of the political system and then achieve the required stability so that Iraq can play its role, enjoy its components and wealth, and actively contribute to development plans, whether on its land or in brotherly countries, in light of the hoped-for implementation of the New Mashreq Alliance.

Al-Shinnawi said that the leaders will discuss developments in the Palestinian, Libyan and Yemeni arenas.

He expressed his belief that choosing the city of El Alamein to hold the summit sends many messages and indicates Egypt’s desire to complete its development project, as this region represents one of the most important axes of development and is considered a new investment destination with its high potentials and the attention it receives from the Egyptian political leadership.
