Man Impersonating Doctor Arrested in Mansour for Performing Surgeries

Baghdad: Al-Karkh Health Directorate announced on Wednesday the arrest of an individual impersonating a doctor who was performing surgical and cosmetic procedures and injections inside an unlicensed facility in Al-Mansour district. The center was subsequently shut down and legal measures were taken against those involved.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Ministry of Health revealed that an inspection team from the Complaints and Oversight Department, in coordination with the Organized Crime Directorate, conducted a joint operation in the Al-Ameerat area of Al-Mansour. During this operation, the suspect was caught in the act without any legal authorization.

The statement further elaborated that the impersonator had presented a forged medical ID, which was confirmed invalid through coordination with the Syndicates of Physicians and Dentists. Following this confirmation, the Organized Crime units immediately apprehended the suspect.

The inspection team also discovered expired medical materials and injection supplies inside the facility, prompting its closure in accordance with legal regulations to protect public health and citizen safety.
