Baghdad: English striker Ivan Toni, currently at Al-Ahli Saudi FC, has caught the attention of Manchester United once again during this summer’s transfer window as the club seeks to enhance its offensive lineup for the upcoming season. Media outlets have highlighted that while Toni is highly regarded by Manchester United’s management, his substantial salary with Al-Ahli and his preference to continue playing in the Saudi league are significant challenges in finalizing a potential transfer.
According to Iraqi News Agency, Al-Ahli has not yet made a decision regarding the sale of their striker, who still has two years remaining on his contract. The club is eager to retain one of its pivotal players following Toni’s impressive performance last season. Toni delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 32 goals in as many appearances in the Roshan League last season, after joining Al-Ahli from Brentford in the summer of 2014.
