Kurdistan: Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) President Masoud Barzani has called for an immediate cessation of the clashes in Sulaymaniyah, emphasizing the urgent need to restore the region’s security and stability. He warned that the recent escalation poses a significant threat to the area’s future security and must be halted promptly to prevent further casualties.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Barzani stated, “We call for an end to the clashes in Sulaymaniyah and are working to prevent bloodshed.” He highlighted that the ongoing tensions are detrimental to the region’s interests and represent a serious threat to its future security.

Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani also voiced his concerns regarding the impact of the escalation on regional stability. He remarked, “The tension in Sulaymaniyah targets the region’s security.” He urged all parties involved to realize the gravity of the situation and cease hostilities immediately to safeguard the youth from becoming victims. He emphasized the importance of resolving disputes through legal channels.

Masrour Barzani further stated, “I am working with all parties to end these tensions and prevent bloodshed and violence.” The recent clashes in Sulaymaniyah were triggered by the issuance of an arrest warrant for Lahur Sheikh Jangi, the leader of the People’s Front Party.
