Masrour Barzani stresses during his meeting with Al-Halbousi the need to start political understandings to form the new government

Baghdad The Presidency of the Kurdistan Regional Government stressed the need to start political understandings among the blocs to form the new government, stressing the importance of combating terrorism and advancing the Iraqi economy.

A statement by the presidency of the region stated, “The PM of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, received the head of the “Progress” Alliance, Mohammad al-Halbousi and his accompanying delegation. The two sides discussed “the latest developments in Iraq, in addition to the war on terrorism and the recent attacks launched by ISIS terrorists. They stressed the importance of coordination between the Peshmerga forces and the Iraqi army.”
It added: “In the meeting, they discussed political understandings for the requirements of the next stage, which contributes to the stability of the country through the effective participation of the Sunni and Kurdish components, the advancement of the economic situation and the improvement of the living conditions of Iraqi citizens, in addition to solving problems in a fundamental way between the Kurdistan Region and the Federal Government, according to the constitution.”
