Baghdad: The Supreme Committee announced today that 10 million people participated in the funeral procession for Ayatollah Khamenei in Iraq. The head of the committee, Ihsan Yassin Al-Awadi, who is also the Director of the Prime Minister’s Office, stated that the Islamic nation and the world observed the funeral with solemnity in Najaf and Karbala.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Awadi detailed the extensive preparations undertaken by the Supreme Committee, which included coordination with Iranian authorities and local governments. The committee worked with the holy shrines, security agencies, and supporting institutions to ensure a unified effort for the funeral’s organization.

The comprehensive plan developed by the committee involved forming specialized committees and devising flexible crowd management scenarios. Al-Awadi emphasized that the plan ensured smooth and efficient processions, accommodating the influx of over 10 million mourners without any reported incidents.

The committee expressed gratitude to all participants, including official institutions, security forces, and volunteers, for their discipline and cooperation. The funeral procession concluded with the transport of Ayatollah Khamenei’s body to Mashhad, Iran, with prayers for divine mercy and peace for Iraq.
