Maysan:The Maysan Criminal Court has handed down life imprisonment sentences to two individuals convicted of drug trafficking.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the Supreme Judicial Council announced that these sentences were issued after the defendants were found guilty of possessing 12 bags of crystal methamphetamine, totaling one kilogram, which they intended to sell to drug users.

The court’s decision was based on Article 27(First) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law No. 50 of 2017.
