Maysan: Security forces in Maysan arrested a wanted person on charges related to drug trafficking and promotion, during a security operation carried out in Al-Maymouna District, south of the governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Maysan Police Command revealed that detachments from the Al-Maymouna Police Department successfully apprehended a suspect wanted under Article (28) of the Narcotics Law. This arrest followed the acquisition of precise information regarding the suspect’s location. The operation formed part of the regional security plan and involved the intensification of checkpoint deployment. The area was meticulously cordoned off and the suspect was apprehended without any injuries.

The statement further mentioned that the suspect was subsequently transferred to the Anti-Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Directorate in Maysan for the necessary legal proceedings.
