According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from Maysan Police Command detailed that a joint security force, supported by army units, rushed to the scene immediately after the incident. They imposed a tight security cordon and completely closed the area’s entrances and exits, which enabled them to control the situation within a short time.

The statement further mentioned that the detainees were referred to the relevant investigative authorities, pending their presentation to the judiciary. It also emphasized the continuation of security efforts to maintain stability and prevent the recurrence of such incidents.

Maysan Police Command called on tribal sheikhs and dignitaries to renounce their differences and abide by the law. They noted that the province is witnessing security stability and will not allow any social disputes to threaten the security and safety of citizens.
