Maysan: The Integrity Commission has announced the arrest of two employees in the Maysan Traffic Directorate for tampering with 40 vehicle license plate fee receipts.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a team from the Maysan Investigation Office conducted a thorough investigation into suspected manipulation and misappropriation of public funds within the directorate. Their investigation led them to the arrest of two employees at the vehicle registration and driver’s license complex. These employees were found to have tampered with receipts related to vehicle, construction, and heavy vehicle license plates and had placed the plates outside the complex, violating established regulations and procedures.
The Commission further detailed that the tampering involved 40 license plate installation requests. The employees proceeded with installing the plates outside the complex without any administrative orders or instructions from the Maysan Traffic Directorate authorizing such actions.
It was indicated that the judge of the specialized integrity court in Maysan has decided to detain the accused and initiate an investigation under the provisions of Article (340) of the Penal Code.
