Anbar: The Military Intelligence Directorate announced the seizure of nearly a quarter of a million drug pills and the thwarting of an attempt to distribute them in Anbar.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Directorate stated in a press release that detachments from the Military Intelligence Directorate’s Intelligence and Security Department of the 5th Infantry Division, acting on precise intelligence and through continuous field efforts in coordination with the Rutba Narcotics Division, were able to seize nearly a quarter of a million Captagon pills. These pills were being prepared for smuggling via GPS-equipped balloons in the Anbar desert, thus foiling their distribution in the province.

It clarified that all materials and the seized items were handed over to the relevant authorities according to established procedures.
