Baghdad: The Minister of Agriculture, Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari, engaged in a significant dialogue with a delegation from the ASUDA Organization, led by Khanum Rahim Latif, head of the It's Time Initiative. The discussions, which took place on Sunday, centered on fostering joint cooperation to tackle climate change and address environmental challenges impacting the agricultural sector. An essential aspect of the dialogue was the emphasis on supporting women working within this sector. The meeting also featured the presence of Buruj Muhammad Jawad, Director of the Women's Affairs Department.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry released a statement noting that Minister Al-Shammari was presented with an overview of ASUDA's work, highlighting the organization's outreach to various institutions aimed at enhancing environmental and climatic conditions, particularly within agricultural domains. The minister expressed his commitment to providing the necessary support to ASUDA, urging the initiation of projects that align with the ministry's goals and bolster the agricultural sector, thereby enhancing the organization's efforts.
Moreover, the minister received an invitation from ASUDA to visit Sulaimaniyah, where he would have the opportunity to oversee efforts aimed at bolstering agricultural support and improving environmental conditions in specific agricultural regions.
