Baghdad: On the sidelines of the announcement of the Ministry of Agriculture obtaining the international ISTA certification, Minister of Agriculture Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari chaired a meeting of the staff of the Seed Testing and Certification Department. The meeting, held in the presence of the department’s Director General, Firas Muzahim Hussein, and a number of specialists, aimed to discuss various issues related to the department’s operations and future directives.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the ministry highlighted in a press release the significance of the laboratories achieving the international ISTA certification. This accomplishment is considered a milestone for the Ministry of Agriculture, marking an unprecedented achievement in the agricultural sector. The announcement was attended by several media outlets, including satellite channels and news agencies.

Following the announcement, the minister conducted an inspection tour of the facilities, providing directives to maintain diligent work and support the government’s efforts in the agricultural sector. He emphasized the importance of this achievement in strengthening the ministry’s role and restoring its vital function. In recognition of his support and leadership, the Director General of the department presented Minister Al-Shammari with an award of excellence for his contribution to raising production levels and achieving significant accomplishments in the field.
