Minister of Communications and Arab League Secretary-General Discuss Enhancing Cooperation in Communications and IT


Cairo: Minister of Communications Mustafa Sand engaged in discussions with Nabil Fahmy, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, focusing on strengthening Arab cooperation in communications and information technology.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place at the General Secretariat of the League in Cairo, attended by Iraqi Ambassador Qahtan Taha Khalaf. The discussions centered on advancing joint Arab action, particularly in communications, information technology, and artificial intelligence, to promote cooperation among Arab states.



The meeting also highlighted the importance of supporting Arab candidates for roles in international and UN organizations by coordinating positions within the Arab League framework. This approach aims to enhance opportunities for Arab candidates and align with common Arab priorities.



Both parties emphasized the necessity of strengthening communication and facilitating visits between officials and relevant Arab institutions to broaden cooperation and exchange expertise. They also looked forward to a visit by the Secretary-General to Baghdad, which is expected to boost communication and coordination between Iraq and the League’s General Secretariat, supporting joint Arab initiatives.
