Minister of Defense Asserts Full Security of Najaf Borders


Najaf: Minister of Defense, Thabet Al-Abbasi, announced today that the nation’s borders are fully secured, alleviating any security concerns. During a press conference with Najaf Governor Yousef Kanawi, Al-Abbasi addressed the ongoing discussions about providing land for ministry employees in Najaf.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Abbasi stated that his visit to the Najaf Governorate is aimed at reviewing the security situation and ensuring continued cooperation with security leaderships. He emphasized that his visit also focuses on the allocation of plots of land within the Al-Jazeera site for the Ministry of Defense. This matter will be presented to the committee authorized by the Prime Minister, involving the Ministries of Defense and Construction and Housing, to finalize the decision on land distribution.



Al-Abbasi further noted a specific issue regarding the determination of borders at the al-Duke camp in the governorate. He assured that efforts are underway to resolve this matter through field presence and cooperation aimed at expanding Najaf Governorate.



In addition, Al-Abbasi reiterated the complete security of borders with neighboring countries, asserting that there are no current security concerns.
