Baghdad: Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari has expressed the ministry’s intention to enhance cooperation with British counterparts. The Ministry of Interior released a statement indicating that Al-Shammari met with the British Ambassador to Iraq, Irfan Siddiq, in his office.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting involved discussions on several topics of mutual interest, focusing on enhancing security cooperation, exchanging expertise, and supporting training and development programs between the Iraqi Ministry of Interior and British security institutions.
Minister Al-Shammari emphasized the ministry’s dedication to expanding cooperation with the British side, acknowledging the supportive role of the United Kingdom in aiding Iraq, particularly in combating terrorism and bolstering the capabilities of security forces.
Ambassador Siddiq expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Interior’s efforts in consolidating security and stability and reiterated the UK’s continued support for Iraq, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations between the two nations.
