Mogadishu: Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari arrived in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, on Thursday to deliver an official invitation to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud. The invitation was from the President of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, for Somalia to participate in the upcoming Arab Summit scheduled to take place next month in Baghdad.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, the Minister conveyed greetings from the President of the Republic and Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani to the Somali President. They discussed the preparations the Iraqi government is undertaking to host the summit, emphasizing its significance in meeting the aspirations of the Arab people and the importance of Somalia's participation.

On the sidelines of the visit, discussions were held on strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and Somalia to serve common interests.
