Baghdad: Minister of Interior Abdul Amir Al-Shammari discussed cooperation in the field of training and capacity building with his Spanish counterpart, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, on Wednesday.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated in a statement that Al-Shammari received his Spanish counterpart at the Ministry headquarters, where an official reception ceremony was held for the visiting Minister and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of a number of security leaders and officers.
The statement added that the Minister held a meeting with his Spanish counterpart, attended by a number of Spanish officials and leaders of the Iraqi Ministry of Interior. The two sides discussed a number of topics of common interest, including combating terrorism, organized crime, and drugs.
He explained that cooperation in the field of training and capacity building was discussed, as well as cybersecurity, the exchange of expertise and information, and a number of topics on the agenda of this official visit.
