Maysan: Interior Minister Abdul Amir Al-Shammari affirmed on Monday that tribal communities are key partners in enforcing the law and maintaining civil and social peace, highlighting their reformative role through open tribal guesthouses (al-Mudhif) aimed at resolving disputes and settling conflicts.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the statement from his media office noted that the minister met with tribal elders and notables of Maysan Governorate as part of his planned field visit to the province.

Al-Shammari emphasized that police forces in Maysan have been reinforced with additional personnel and rapid response patrols to ensure local security, stressing that the field presence of security leadership aims to strengthen stability and uphold the authority of the law. He underlined that the law applies to everyone and must be enforced firmly without favoritism, stressing the need to execute all arrest orders and hold criminals accountable to ensure they face justice.

He added that tribal communities play a pivotal role in supporting security agencies and implementing the law through their social and reformative efforts, noting that such collaboration contributes to security and stability in the governorate. The statement concluded that the tribal elders and notables of Maysan welcomed the minister and security leadership, affirming their full support for the security agencies and their work.
