Minister of Labor and French Ambassador Explore Enhanced Bilateral Cooperation in Social Protection and Labor Market


Baghdad: Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi engaged in discussions with the French Ambassador to Iraq, Patrick Durel, focusing on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Iraq and France. The talks centered on social protection, empowering vulnerable populations, and support for the labor market.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Minister Al-Asadi highlighted the significance of the Iraqi-French relationship, underscoring its historical partnership rooted in cooperation and mutual support. He acknowledged France’s positive influence in bolstering development and stability in Iraq.



Al-Asadi expressed the Ministry’s intent to deepen collaboration with France, particularly in areas such as social protection, youth empowerment, and improving work environments and capacity building. He conveyed the Ministry’s eagerness to leverage French expertise and experience in these domains.



The French Ambassador, Patrick Durel, reiterated France’s commitment to strengthening economic and developmental ties with Iraq. He emphasized the importance of cooperation in the labor sector amid Iraq’s evolving phase of development and project execution.
