Istanbul: Minister of Trade Athir Dawood Al-Ghariri engaged in discussions with his Turkish counterpart, Omer Bolat, in Istanbul about the future of trade cooperation, the development of economic relations, and the scheduling of Joint Trade Committee meetings.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the discussion took place on the sidelines of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMSC) meetings of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries. A significant topic was the forthcoming visit of the Turkish Minister of Trade to Baghdad and Basra this month, which is seen as a crucial step in strengthening trade and economic ties between Iraq and Turkey.

The two sides reached an agreement to hold Joint Trade Committee meetings between Iraq and Turkey in the coming month. This initiative aims to intensify collaboration in trade and investment, broadening the scope of partnership to foster economic growth and fulfill mutual interests.

Both ministers emphasized the significance of
Iraqi-Turkish relations, advocating for their expansion to encompass various sectors, which would be beneficial to both nations and contribute to regional stability through active economic cooperation.
