Minister of Trade Arrives in Geneva for UNCTAD Conference


Geneva: Minister of Trade Atheer Dawood Al-Ghariri arrived in Geneva, Switzerland, today to participate in the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry announced that Al-Ghariri is set to take part in the 16th session of the conference. The session is scheduled to commence tomorrow, with participation from the UN Secretary-General and a substantial attendance from representatives of member states, as well as international and regional organizations.



The conference aims to address current global economic challenges and examine the role of regional relations in mitigating uncertainties in the international economy. Additionally, it will explore strategies for achieving sustainable development and enhancing trade partnerships between nations.



The statement from the Ministry further detailed that the Minister of Commerce will engage in the main sessions alongside ministers, senior officials, and economic experts. Al-Ghariri is also expected to conduct bilateral meetings with various counterparts and international officials on the conference’s sidelines. These discussions will focus on exploring prospects for trade cooperation and the exchange of expertise in investment and economic transformation.
