Baghdad: The Ministry of Defense has firmly denied issuing any intelligence cable suggesting that Saudi Arabia intends to target the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF).

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Defense released a statement addressing the rumors, declaring, “We deny what has been circulated in some media outlets and social media platforms regarding the issuance of a cable containing intelligence information about Saudi Arabia’s intention to target PMF headquarters.” The Ministry emphasized that the information being circulated is unfounded and lacks support from any official document or source within the Ministry.

The Ministry further urged media outlets to refrain from spreading inaccurate information, highlighting the potential for such reports to mislead the public and create confusion. It appealed to media organizations and social media users to ensure accuracy in their reporting and to depend on official sources, such as the Ministry’s website and social media platforms, for security and military-related news and information.
