Baghdad: The Ministry of Education has announced the commencement of applications for direct admission to public universities for the upcoming academic year 2026/2027. This opportunity is extended to graduates of secondary schools from various branches including scientific, literary, arts, vocational, and Islamic, as well as those from institutes of arts and music studies.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research detailed that the application process will continue until Sunday, October 4, 2026. The Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up released a statement specifying that the direct admission program includes a wide range of colleges and departments. These comprise Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Fine Arts and Art Education, Archaeology, and Kurdish, Turkish, and Syriac Languages, among others.

The department also highlighted that students aiming for the Colleges and Departments of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and the College of Applied Sports Science Technology, are required to download an application form. They must complete a medical examination before attending the university to take the test, which is facilitated through the Qadam platform.
