Baghdad: The Ministry of Education has announced the regulations for online applications to distinguished schools and Baghdad College high schools for the academic year 2026-2027. This follows the Minister of Education’s approval of the admission guidelines.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry specified that online applications will commence on Thursday, July 9, 2026, and will remain open until July 31, 2026. Prospective students can submit their applications via the designated online platform. The Ministry has outlined that applicants must achieve a minimum score of 582 for Muslim students and 485 for non-Muslim students, which both correspond to 97% under the approved regulations.

The Ministry confirmed that all applicants will be required to undergo two examinations: an intelligence test and an achievement test. These tests will cover subjects including Arabic, English, mathematics, and science, and are scheduled for Sunday, August 9, 2026, at 8:00 AM. Applicants must attend the exams at the school they selected during the application process.

The Ministry has urged students and parents to thoroughly review the detailed regulations and instructions available in the official documents regarding the application and admission process. It emphasized the importance of adhering to the specified deadlines and conditions. Additionally, the Ministry highlighted the collaboration between the General Directorate of Public, Private, and Foreign Education and the General Directorate of Educational Planning in launching the electronic link for applications to these distinguished and gifted student programs.
