Baghdad: The Ministry of Education has announced a new start date for the 2026-2027 academic year, moving it to October 1st. This adjustment replaces the previously scheduled date as the ministry finalizes its preparations for the upcoming school year, ensuring schools are equipped and ready with the necessary educational and administrative resources to welcome students.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Minister of Education Abdul Karim Abtan al-Jubouri has instructed the directorates general of education to take all necessary steps to implement the new start date. This directive aims to ensure that schools are fully prepared to receive students and commence the academic year smoothly on October 1st.
