Baghdad: The Ministry of Environment has announced intensified monitoring procedures at Al-Doura refinery, part of the Central Refineries Company, to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and standards. The initiative is part of the ministry's ongoing efforts to oversee major industrial activities.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a team from the Baghdad Environment Directorate conducted a field visit to the refinery to inspect waste treatment processes resulting from production activities. The ministry highlighted the ongoing removal of old production units at the refinery, which are being replaced with new, advanced, and more efficient units that are environmentally friendly. This upgrade aims to enhance the refinery's production and environmental performance.

The ministry's statement noted that the inspection team focused on monitoring air quality using an environmental scanning device, Haz-Scanner, to take immediate measurements and detect any potential pollutants in the refinery's vicinity.
